Just as an update. I really never thought about laws and ashes. After all I throw just about as much over after a few good barbecues. Anyway I called and of course I got the usual 15, Gee I don't know answers" I was Trasnfered from DHEC to EPA to County Zoning to the Coast Guard and then back to DHEC before I got an answer. Apparently in SC there aren'T any laws against it. If fact the fella was telling me about one person scattering ashes on the public beach..As for guns and all that mess.. Not what I looking for. Hey he was an ER doc, and as you can tell from my alias (i hope) I'm a Paramedic/ER RN. We see death almost an a daily basis. So no big deal.. No it was just that he was a cool guy, and a young 46. As stated by Katysails this isn't for him but his family, they're a mess. Really thanks for the suggestions, and the humor. If nothing else its a nice distraction. Taking life one day at a time, Glen I need some help. A very good friend of mine just died. He and his wife loved to sail with us. She called and told me she would like to have Steve's ashes thrown overboard into the sound. Since the boat is not very big (25') we plan on having the bulk of the memorial party on shore at our house. What is the "proper" way to set the boat up..ie flags, bunting, etc. He died in Mexico so it will be a few days before his ashes return here. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Glen |
