CM "katysails" wrote in message ... You've never upgraded? Good grief.... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... Now it's doing it to Moorons posts. If I hit ''properties'' , I now see ''line 4'' (references) is way long. But, I can't delete them. There is no 'open with- WP' option. I'm using Win-95. Scotty "Donal" wrote in message ... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... For some reason I can't reply to Katy's posts. I get the below error message. Can anybody tell me why? TIA, Scotty Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject ' Katy get a bigger dink', Account: 'News.Individual.NET', Server: 'News.Individual.NET', Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '441 Line 4 too long', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9 The following instructions aren't as complicated as they look. Here is how you can reply to the message: 1. Highlight Katy's message. 2. Click "File" - "Save as" ... and choose Desktop as the directory. (Desktop should appear in the drop down list) 3. Shrink all open windows so that you can see the desktop. 4. Right click the document called "Re_ Katy get a bigger dink.nws" 5. Choose "Open with" - "wordpad". 6. You will see a line near the top that starts with the word "References: " This is probably the line that is causing the problem. This line consists of a bunch of references to previous posts. Each reference begins with a "" and ends with a "". Delete the first couple of references. 7. "File"-"Save".. and close wordpad. 8. Double click the document called "Re_ Katy get a bigger dink.nws" 9. Click the "Reply" button" and everything should work as normal. Women, eh? Sometimes I wonder if they are really worth all the trouble!! Regards Donal ... talented Sailor, Computer expert, Golfer, pianist, astronomer and all round good guy! -- |
