Katy, Hurricane season is enjoyable If you don't get hit by a hurricane. Remember, a hurricane only lasts 12 hours, maybe less. Of course, the preparation takes a day or two and the clean-up can take longer, but not every place gets a hurricane every year. You can't say the same about winter! ... if you own the proper boat and know how to weather any storm. Yeah, right. There certainly is such a thing as being prepared, but if a Cat 5 hurricane nails you, you're lucky to be alive. Or if a neighbors less-well-prepared boat slams into yours, blowing debris, etc etc. ... You know the news people look for the worst to show you Yankee's on TV. Sure. They do the same for winter storms up north. It's their job, man. DSK |

The neighbors allowed a 50' sportfisherman to raft alongside their 30' sailboat. Of course they both parted their lines and found their way to our friends' Catalina 34. Max |
