many more are cleaved from the antarctic pack

That could decribe many things.... but I've heard the reference used to
describe ice pack pressure on a vessel.

and down in the sea, not because it is scraping bottom.

A bergy bit is about the size of a house. Both the bergy bit and the
growler are usually calved from icebergs.

I would guess an Ice ridge is were to masses of ice meet and the
pressure forms a ridge.

Real sailors don't need no stinkin' sissy ice cubes with their rum. That's
for girly boys such as Gaynzy and his hoe, BB the sissy pretend sailor.

Tepid rum mixed half and half with water is a real day sailor's drink.

Hot coffee, black - mixed half and half with rum is a midnight-watch sailor's drink.

Straight rum drunk by the bottle is a bulk carrier captain's drink. (Hazelwood).
