Excellent information! I am eliminating the table completely for one large
sofa-sleeper area. I reallyt like all of the improvements that you've made to CTM. My CORONADO is pretty much 1971 original with the OMC saildrive unit and very standard easy-to-control but no ease-of-use rigging. The other sailors (term applied loosely) on this site should take a look at what you were dealing with before yourefitted your vessel before they sound-off. I admire the innovation in your refit. Another question - given the angle of the wall to the imediate port side of the interior companionway, what did you use to achieve the swivel effect of your instrument station. It seems that a standard hinge won't do, so what did you use? Any chance of getting some detsail poics of that assembly? Dave "Capt. Neal®" wrote in message ... The v-berth cushions in my yacht are only a few months old. I had them made from 4" firm (green) foam and vinyl (matching mauve like the settee cushions.) The settee cushions are made from the same vinyl material and firm green foam but the foam is three-inches thick. Rhombozoidal???? I had four cushions on the settee area when I bought the boat. They were made to lay down on the table and make one double-sized bed. Put your table down on the settee seats and the backs of the forward and aft settee seats should go in the middle on the table. The ends of the two cushions in the middle should acquire the slant the table has. These can be used as the backs of the settees when the table is in the up position. They won't fit quite right but turn the slanted side towards the side of the boat and they won't be noticed. Good luck. CN "Sailing Dave" wrote in message ... Gracious Captain Neal, Yesterday I removed the head door and the bulkhead between the head and v-berth. As my boat is winterized an hour away from my home, I brought all of my cushions home so my upholsterer could measure them. My questions are as follows: My old upholstery is 3" foam. I am thinking of putting 4" foam on seats and 3" foam on backs. What is your recommendation? Also, one of the setee seats is not a perfect rectangle. There is a single rhombozoidal end to one our help.of the portside seats (I believe it is the foreward of the two) Which is the rhombozoidal cushion on that seat - is it the back or the seat itself? Thank you in advance for y |
