Not in an offshore squall, anyway.

I understand that there are a few things that will rip loose the
rigging. TOWs, MADRATs, 16" NGFS, etc etc. Personally, I don't sail in
locations where those things are likely

Yes it is 12 V

The shape of a round puddle on the ground. Many autos have puddle light
in the bottom of the door or bottom of the side mirror.

So you don't step in a puddle getting out? I get it. Never heard that

It's for extremely shallow draft vessels.
