And, this is for you from

Ellen MacArthur sails solo toward an around-the-world record

By KRYSTYNA RUDZKI

LONDON (AP) - Ellen MacArthur has endured stormy seas, 100-kilometre-per-hour winds, a broken sail, burns, bruises and exhaustion -
even a close encounter with a whale. The payoff: a solo around-the-world sailing record.

The 28-year-old Englishwoman completed the 42,000-mile circumnavigation at 5:29 p.m. EST on Monday by crossing an imaginary finish
line between Ushant, France, and the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall on the south coast of England. Her final time was 71 days 14 hours
18 minutes and 33 seconds, her control team said.

An "imaginary finish line"??? So, they stick a finish line anywhere it's convenient, now?

Her 'control team said'??? So, her own team declares she broke the record? Isn't that like
letting Mike Tyson referee his own fights?

Bwahahahhahahahahah! Some record!

She was tracked via GPS. Her record will be confirmed.
Neal, you've trounced yet again.

The only record the little dyke has is a criminal record
for her admitting to violating Rule 5 of the COLREGS.

Unless and until she goes around legally, she has done
nothing but violate the tenets of good, prudent, and
legal seamanship.

Until fools such as yourself, Donal, Wally, DSK, Gaynz and
whoever else wishes to give credit to a lawbreaker repent
of their errant ways, you will be just as unworthy of
accolades as the little dyke is.

Is it legally a "record" when it violates International Laws and Treaties?

It is totally abhorrent how so-called sailors in this group
can laud any individual who goes out and does something
that is totally against the Rules and therefore totally
illegal. It's too bad some Coast Guard cutter did not
pull her over and declare hers a manifestly unsafe
journey and put a stop to the entire dangerous
enterprise. Actually, I'm quite miffed that the
Coast Guard allows this type of illegal racing to
continue year after year. How many deaths at
sea is it going to take before they force sailors
to obey the law?

Oh no!!! She violated rule 5!!!! She's a real sailor and makes her own rules
because she's a real sailor. She's taken her boat where you couldn't, rules or
no rules.
71 days or 171, she's 50 times the sailor you are, Neal. I won't call you
captain anymore!

Like I give a flying crap whether or not you call me Captain!

Since when would any sailor care what some pussy-whipped, fat
man who writes third-rate screen play thinks or says?

Your ignorace of the most basic of racing basics is blatant. Did you think
they paint a line on the water? A trail of sawdust, maybe?
