That 9mm is a pussy gun... I hate semi-autos. I think the 9mm is a pansy

Ya got that right, Matey! I'll take my Dan Wesson, .357, double-action, six-shooter
with jacketed hollow points any day. Alternate FMJ's for penetrating body armor
and you have a man's weapon.

Good point. One hand free allows one to re ignite their cigar should it go
out for some reason. The 9 mm is an enemic round, suitable for use by
women.
Try the 41 mag. Make certain you practice quite a bit.

What is the best gun for yachting? The shotgun can blow large holes in

old
7.62 mm assault rifle. Great range, fire power and visibility - strikes

fear
into the enemy. They tend to get heavy with 40 round clips, but nothing
beats the feel of an old friend pressed against your shoulder and cheek,

the
smell of powder, the ring in the ears and of course the toasty warm

barrel
with the odor of gun oil and solvents!

I personal recommend an HK 91, or a Springfield Armory M1A or M-14. With

40
rounds you are bound to hit something! Hoo-yah! Ah-men!!!

Waste of ammo. For close work, the Browning 9mm is good. I'm a Colt
.45 man, myself. The HK 91 is good, but the M1 or M14 are too heavy.
I don't favor an automatic rifle for close work. I prefer a pistol.
An advantage of a pistol is that it leaves you one hand free for
looting.

Oh. I thought the topic was "work horse gun for cruising". Which
implies we were talking about guns that are for utility purposes. I
have a shotgun for bears, I consider it to have a purpose, to fill a
need. I have a little .22 for birding, so it serves a purpose also.

A good shotgun is pretty much a necessity in the bush. Not because of
human predators, but because sometimes a bear just doesn't understand
shoo....because a nice wolf ruff will do wonders for a good parka....
because a Moose helps you eat thru the winter without buying the $4.99
a pound green hamburger!

So I was merely wondering why you would need a 'workhorse' gun, not
trying to offend your pistol packin' selves!

And so far I've haven't been shown a need for gun, unless it's a flare
gun or spear gun or a glue gun!

and, ah... this thread... ahem.... ah... no offense... but calling the

What do load the shotgun with for bears? What birds do you shoot?

Double odd and sabot slugs. First round a double 00 followed by a Sabot and
another double 00.. repeat until mag is full.

They shoot varieties of geese, ducks, the odd swan.... Ruffed and Spruce
grouse as well as Ptarmigan

ducks Shotgun or .22?

No, we're on the big upswing right now... December is pretty much
hell, only really freaking cold... Dec 22 we had about an hour of
daylight. Or we would have, if there hadn't been a storm moving in to
block any view of the sky.....January is coming out of it....

Right now we're gaining about 7 minutes a day. Sunrise was right
before lunch, and it was starting to set at about 5.

We've had some unseasonally warm weather the last few days, so
everyone in town has been out and about playing!

As for normal...... I like this ng, even if there's more playing than
sail-talk at time... tho' the normalcy is dubious with some of the
members!

and, ah... this thread... ahem.... ah... no offense... but calling the
people in this thread 'normal' is a little stretch of the imagination,
wouldn't you say? After all, you, BC, Overproof and Capt. Kneel are
all involved in the conversation!

"Normal"... is a relative term.

You on the other hand should be undergoing seasonal "Cabin Fever" about now.
What's your daylight right now... 3 hours as the sun skims the horizon?

laughing my ass off reading your posts.

Oh Yeah Homovath...... like I'm gonna take any advice on firearms from some
frail little queer like you with your Ultra Gay "Colt Python" [ I mean
really... how gay is that for a name...]

Python is a gay name? Stay off the liquor, dumbass.

It came with custom sights, and the Pachmeyer grips. Do you know what
those are? I replaced the grips with ivory. Do you want to buy the
Pachmeyers? Only a hundred bucks.

You!........ are one stunned little dickweed aren't you?
Ivory????........ You HOMO!!!!!

That's right. Ivory. And I don't mean the soap. It's actual ivory
from African elephants, shot by poachers. Now banned in the USA.
With little silver inlays of the Colt emblem. They're worth more than
your boat.

Pathetic Earthlings! No one can save you now!
