Ski Mt Quandary if you want a real ski
experience.

Life's too short to waste even a weekend there.

There's at least one concession heli skiing it, it's only a few hours XC ski
up (a 30 minute drive from Breck, last right before Hoosier) and a good ski
down. Who's talking about a weekend? You can even go over the pass for some
good old ice climbing fun at Montgomery Reservoir.

Amen!

How does that compare with St. Mary's glacier? We used to ice climb there
in the spring.

Something tells me you aren't stupid enough to ski out-of-area and get
yourself buried anyway.

Max

Yep, I'm that stupid.....but smart too.

At least you're still alive. Skiing out of area is indeed fun, IF (very big
*if*) you know what you're doing.

Did you see that sign in the news this week--the one with the skull and
crossbones, stating: "If you ski out of area, you can die."? I always
wanted to put up something similar at Breckenridge, but the area mgt.
wouldn't have it. Guess they'd rather let the turkeys ski off and bury
themselves, costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands when we have to go
dig their frozen corpses out of the slide.

St Mary's is low angle. The glacier is much smaller than it used to be.
That's from too many people driving SUV's - on the glacier!

Fact: The networks failed to declare OHIO for Bush for hours
when it was clear he won. Only a deluded Kerry hoped he won
Ohio. Kerry was bolstered by the networks who couldn't conceive
he would lose. Neither Bush nor Cheney thought they lost Ohio.

Kerry lost because he is a phony, spinelss, liberal, willing to sell out
our country for his own gain. He lost because he failed to reveal
his and his wife's tax returns. He lost because he bailed out of
Vietnam after only serving four months, while everyone else served
the normal one year tour.

Fact: Kerry did not win the popular vote. France is not part of the
United States.

Finally, I think it is disgraceful that the networks are so biased and try
to influence elections with their biased reporting. Perhaps Bush was
elected because the majority of America can see through that bull****
and pick a President that is not spineless or wishy washy.

Fact: 49% of the country voted for Kerry, and until the Ohio vote was
recounted, everybody including Bush & Cheney thought he'd won.

Well said Neal. Since the Republicans moved towards the
center, the Demorcrats have nothing but the far, far "kook" "Left".

You've got to be kidding. Nothing beyond hiking boots was allowed on the
glacier for decades. Sad.

Being AGAINST something means that you are FOR an alternative.

Perhaps, but it really helps a lot if you HAVE an alternative. Kerry's
stock line: "We can do better." Maybe, but he never gave any indication
HOW he was going to do better. Might have made a difference in the outcome
of the election if he had.
