Poor Bobsprit, typical liberal.

Wrong as usual. with $350 million plus being sent.

Bobsprit--Never proud to be an American!

Better yet, ashamed to be an American.
Or more acurately, NOT an American.

Why do you feel it's our 'duty' to send aid to any and every disaster
on the planet?
On the news I saw a woman , in some small country that got hit,
complaining that they haven't received enough aid. While I do feel
sorry for her in her situation , I don't like her all too typical,
victim mentality, attitude.
She should be grateful if and when aid arrives, instead of expecting
it and complaining about the lack of it.

This ties in with the ''AAA'' mentality of sailing now a days.

Scotty

Scotty and Joe should be ashamed of their posts. The plight of this poor
woman, and thousands of others, bears no relation whatever to that of people
who undertake potentially risky activities on the assumption that someone
will come along and rescue them if they get into trouble.
She has not got a 'victim mentality' because she _is_ in fact a victim, of
a totally unforeseeable catastrophe while going about her normal daily
activities and had no way of helping herself from her own resources. None
of those victims knew for a long time that what had happened to them was
repeated along hundreds of miles of coastline so it would only be natural to
wonder why no aid was quickly forthcoming.
Our 'duty' to help springs from the fact that we are all part of the human
race. If you disagree then I am sorry for you.

Jon,

Tell us just how we, in the United States could have gotten , "A glass
of water" to those victims in less than three days. Explain to us that
help from the rest of those countries that weren't affected by the
"Wave" There were a lot of people not affected that lived away from the
coast. They were the early response people and they coudn't get fresh
drinking water or food to them any faster, how in the hell could we, a
1/2 a world away?
Show some sense of reason!!!

Some on, Thom........you're responding to Gaynze. That in itself leaves
out any kind of reasoning.

So, what you're saying is that we shouldn't even try. That's what Scotti
Potti and Joe said.
