Hey Nutsy,
Although it isn't a Nautical gift it does have a Nautical purpose. I got a DVD/VCR player. My Daughter thought it was time to reduce the size of my VCR tapes collection. I have sailing taped hanging on three doors in wire racks. Hooked it up today but didn't get past the IL Moro/ America Cube series. Race 4 & 5 in my mind, are the two greatest "Match Races" I've ever seen. Wound up watching them rather than transfering. What a great evening. She plays the skin-flute, but wanted to learn Piano to teach Thomas, so I carefully hid it from her under the bed, then set it up next to the tree. She also got a lot of cheap jewelry, two new coats of face make-up and a new pair of worn out shoes! I got 2 nekked flashers to go with the patio radio, and quite a bit of bull**** crap from my family...as always. But Thomas had the biggest haul ever!!! It was almost like the second shower he's had in his life with so many cloths and cute baby crap...even his own website, PoorThomasRobertBrody.com!!!...and even a wading pool (I'll set it up tomorrow or this week sometime so I can ice skate) and a set of wooden coats that Suzanne's father stold for him. With the recent loss of my diaper pale leaving a glaring hole, Thomas kept the piles flowing. It was a messy few days! Hope everyone had a good holiday...What did YOU get???? I know I got more than all you losers combined... Capt RB |

What a great evening. I'd give the nod to Race 4... I have that on tape too. It's very instructive on how to win with a slower boat. I still can't believe Buddy Melges made the mistakes he did in that race, but Cayard (and the Il Moro crew) really did a perfect job. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |

Right Doug,
Race 5 wasn't as close but the ability to over come problems, for both crews, were great! Am3 with the rip in the main at the start and repairing it with Il Moro right on their stern during pre-start and during the Race, Il Moro breaking the two upper Battens in the main, making repairs and still maintaining speed. Great! Ole Thom |
