I think I'll get rid of my Voodoo doll.

Spectacular fire here tonight.

I'm afraid.

I think I have the most powerful Voodoo doll in Florida.

There is this 100 foot sailboat that always made
a bunch of noise and bothered me with teen age kids playing
guitars loudly and drums. And dinghies making wakes in
the no wake harbor. And generators running all night.

I must admit I wished them ill.

Tonight that boat caught fire and burned right down to the
waterline. The fire started somewhere up in the bow and
progressed right on back until the whole vessel was
consumed. Thank God nobody was aboard at the time.

While I did not poke pins in my Voodoo doll wishing for
a fire or anything, I did wish the whole noisy boat would
go away. Can't help feeling somewhat responsible.
..
Katy, I never have never and will never Voodoo you. I
was only joking about it.

Lady Pilot warned me about even toying with Voodoo. It's
evil and it works. She's a good Christian and she probably
know of which she speaks. There is only one person on this
group who that deserves to be Voodooed but as a good
Christian man I will leave his fate in God's hands.

Yeah, why not let the air out of her. She can use a rest.

Yeah, but you have no camera, right?

I will post a link to the newspaper story when it comes out.

I took no photos. The Coast Guard was circling keeping
people well away.

First off don't be so vain as to assume you had any effect on this.
Secondly.. understand that youth must be allowed to shake the tree
Third and Final.... Karma will Balance both Ying and Yang....

Understand that the persons on this vessel are under the same rules as we
are.

Unfortunate incident..... but it takes a much greater power than a
uninitiated acolyte to cause such devastatation.

It is as much a lesson to you as it is to the owner of the vessel....
Defend your rights but wish no one harm Capt.

The last time I was in New Orleans, my brother bought a voodoo god.
We bowed to the god, and asked for our team to win. We won easily,
and never asked the god for anything, again.

Pathetic Earthlings! No one can save you now!

See? You shouldn't play with toys not meant for you....if you can't control
your magic, you shouldn't use it.

He doesn't understand that the voodoo doll only has power over a designated
person and doesn't perform mass attacks or work on inanimate objects. For
that, you need stronger talismans....and chants and dance....and a few
herbs....

There are strange things going on in the world. I wouldn't give much
credence to a Voodoo doll, but then it might work somehow.

A well known example is that hospital patients recover better & quicker
when prayed for. There have been numerous studies of this and the margin
ranges from statistically insignificant to around 8%.

Another more personal example is my father's Tanuki statue. Tanuki is
the Shinto god of fertility. Dad brought it home from Japan and it is
responsible for at least a dozen babies including my nephew. He was born
almost exactly 9 months after my sister visited and handled Tanuki by
chance. I will not let my wife touch it... I had to yank it away from
her when Dad was showing it to her...

OTOH as an engineer, I always tell people it's bad luck to be
superstitious...

If you saw the fire, you could see well enough to take a pic, or did you just
smell smoke and hope for the best?
