The Answer To Everyone's Problem

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp.../canada_usa_dc

1. Canada needs Immigrants
2.. Liberals don't want to be drafted
3. Yet a prominent left wing leader has openly called for a return to using
the draft
4. Canada has an open immigration policy
5. The US is over crowded
6. The US has an open emmigration policy
7. Ergo send all our problems to Canada plus they then can visit Cuba and
have socialized medicine
8. That will leave the USA with one party in a two party system.
9. Libertarians move in to fill the void.

Canada Wins, USA Wins, everyone is happy.

Simple.

katysails November 7th 04 12:17 AM

I think it may be dicey getting there by boat, but it is still
possible to fly in from Canada, Mexico or other non US "gateways", as
far as I know. I must admit that I have a desire to go, probably just
because the government doesn't allow it:) I dated a Cuban gal for
several years and I sort of developed an interest in the area. I have
this crazy belief that we Americans should be free to travel
regardless of the desires of a certain group of Florida residents who,
by the way, ARE allowed to travel down there. Screw that.

It looks like I could catch a flight from Mexico. Maybe I'll send GWB
a postcard if I go, and just to be on the safe side, I'll sign it from
Joe in crayon.

In case anyone wants to book a tour.

A semi-unrelated item. I highly recommend the movie The Motorcycle
Diaries, currently out. It is an interesting look at South America in
1952 as seen by Ernesto "Che" Guevara's and reported in his journals.
Great flick. Two thumbs up, for those of us with thumbs:)

If it's an Australian flagged yacht, you'd probably find Howard et al
have sold out your rights. Guy I correspond with in the USA has his
yacht flagged in Panama just so he's not subject to USCG 'anytime,
anywhere' searches.

Maybe a NZ flagged vessel might be the go. Except for their idiotic
rules concerning what's needed on a blue water yacht but that might not
be a problem if you just never took it into NZ waters.
