Default Kerry says he will take care of the troops

Don't forget -- John Kerry is strong on defense:
He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F117

In short, he voted to kill every military Appropriation for the

development
and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to include the

battle
armor for our troops.

With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running
around
with sticks and clubs. He also voted to kill all anti terrorism

activities

21 times. Gee, do you think he could have repeated it a few more
times for the really slow people. God he was so bad. I mean I
really was hoping he would at least sound intelligent.

These are typical Republican distortions of Kerry's voting record!
Throughout Kerry's early Senate years he often voted against specific
weapons systems and sometimes against the entire Pentagon budget.
Republicans shouldn't make too much of these votes, however, since
President Bush's own father announced in his 1992 State of the Union
address that he would be ceasing further production of B-2 bombers and
MX missiles, and would cut military spending by 30 percent over several
years.

Kerry has a point when he says "I've voted for some of the largest
defense and intelligence budgets in our history," which is correct. He's
voted for military spending bills regularly since 1997. Since 1996, the
John Kerry who once opposed the Apache helicopter and wanted to cut
Tomahawk cruise-missile funds by 50% has evolved into a steady supporter
of military budgets. Starting in 1997 Kerry voted for every regular
Department of Defense appropriations bill and for every authorization
bill as well.

See http://www.factcheck.org/article.aspx?docID=147 for the truth,
instead of the distortions and outright lies being spread by the Bush
supporters.

Of course he has, but loco isn't thinking for himself. He's letting Karl
Rove do the talking.

Records of individual votes, oft taken out of context, are a poor indicator
of anyones stan on a given issue. For example, pro-gun congressmen were
recently asked to defeat a bill they had supported after their anti-gun
fellows loaded it up with anti gun ammendments. This could allow their
future opponants to paint the most avid NRA supporter to be an anti-gun
crank by citing his oppostition to this bill.

Perhaps a better example involves a state senator I know. He is a devout
Catholic who vehemently opposes abortion. He voted against an anti-abortion
bill at the request of both his church and several right-to-life org's he
supported because it was certain to be struck down in the courts. Worse yet
(from his RTL standpoint) its passage would have precluded a vote on a more
moderate law that could have a chance in court. But angry ayatollahs of the
radical right attacked him so visciously next election that he barely won
and then decided to retire.

Nice try. I would buy into your argument if there were one instance or two
or even three.

Couldn't let this one past even though I've already voted.

1953 Korean War 10,000 plus US soldiers dead . . . .for nothing . . . . .

1960's and 1970's Viet-Nam War almost 60,000 US soldiers dead . . .for
nothing . . .Pres. Johnson A Democrat (while his war starting party joins
with the enemy and spit on returning military)
1970's Ships can't sail, divisions can't deploy, squadrons can't fly as
thousands of senior NCO's get out in order to feed their families . .
..Thousands of GI's line Bragg Boulevard from the Fort Gates to the local
welfare office . . .object? Food Stamps Reason: Pres. Jimmy Carter A
Democrat
1990's President Bubba Clinton and the eight year lesson that military
service means nothing and the military doesn't count.
and then you put Hanoi John up for election

A Democrat taking care of the troops? You gotta be ****ing kidding. More
like one more knife in our backs.

It's a ONE issue race, and the only issue that counts is get Kerry . . .Your
mistake, the sleeping dogs of war are awake and let the chips of other
issues fall where they may. You shoulda just left it alone and I'd still be
voting Libertarian. Instead I voted against Kerry and against the party
that has crapped on the military for over fifty years. And don't think it
will die down after the election. Revenge is a dish best served very very
cold and it's our turn to spit on you. If it takes a damn Republican to
bring you down well hey it took one to bring down the Evil Empire. . .this
is just one more crumb left to sweep into the garbage.

Hey don't cry . . .you still got Hillary. She's the only choice you got
for 2008. No phony military service matters BS with a woman running for
Pres. All you gotta do is change the name from Democrats to the Pussy
Party. Hell you aint got no men anyway.

Have a bad day . . .I'm going back to the Persian Gulf . .... where it's
safe . . .at least til February.

Recuerde SFO! Woof! Woof!

SFC Michael O. US Army Infantry (ret) with real Purple Hearts and full
tours of duty in the 'nam and other combat zones. ... never deserted my men,
never turned traitor but I'd a had six more of those forgot to duck medals
if I used the Kerry method!)

ok all fun aside do you have the slightest idea how much the military active
and retired detests you? I didn't think so . . good . . .makes it all the
easier.

We saved S. Korean, which is vibrant economy.

Damn right. A ****ting situation. Good news, produced some fine men, such
as McCain, Bob Kerry and John Kerry.

**** for president. Great ex-president. Oh well, I didn't vote for him.

1990's President Bubba Clinton and the eight year lesson that military
service means nothing and the military doesn't count.
and then you put Hanoi John up for election

The best, smartest president we've had in 100 years. Impeached because he
got a blow job. Probably Hyde was jealous.

A Democrat taking care of the troops? You gotta be ****ing kidding. More
like one more knife in our backs.

Ooops... what about FDR?

Who is "you"? I hope I was the one who influenced your vote. Better to
vote for the wrong person than not vote at all!

She'll never see the Oval Office unless Kerry is defeated.

Scenario #1: Kerry wins '04--runs again in '08, Hillary is now 61yo.

Scenario#2: Kerry wins '08--Edwards is the heir apparent for '12, Hillary
is 65yo. in '12. If Edwards wins in '12, he'll run again in '16, when
Hillary will then be 69 yo. Her first opportunity would then be in '20,
when she'll be 73. Not likely she'll give a rodent's posterior by then.

Scenario #3: Kerry defeated in '08--GOP now occupies the White House and
Hillary can't run until '12, when she'll be 65 yo. Possible, but highly
unlikely. See comment (XX) below.

Scenario #4: Kerry defeated in '04, Hillary runs in '08 at age 61, which is
still potentially viable, but women apparently haven't even gained
acceptance for the second spot (VP) as evidenced that none have been tapped
since Geraldine Ferraro.

XX: In '12, at age 65, Hillary won't be the dem's #1 choice. New, fresh
faces will be on the scene by then, such as Evan Bayh, Barak Obama (sorry if
misspelled). Relative youth and looks have become far too important (sadly)
in US presidential politics. Her only hope for a run at the presidency is
'08, and Kerry must lose now for that to happen. And '08 would be ideal for
her. The GOP leaves no heir apparent (Cheney?? Bwahahahaha!) for the
throne. Hillary will have face and name recognition, while the GOP will
have to field someone new or bring in the old warhorses like McCain, Lott,
or Hastert. She has a strong potential to become the first female president
in '08, but not after.

Take your pick, Jon. The choice is yours--literally.

61 isn't that old for being president. But, I could live with all of these.
She
would win handily against Bush right now.
