I concur on that choice. Excellent vessel.

.... mind you the exhilaration delivered by a 7.5 foot Zodiac RIB with a
15hpMerc capped by a 9.9 decaled cowling is wondrous as well! :-)

Bill, I'm looking at the 12' model of Portaboat. With a 6HP do you think it
will plane with 2 people and gear?

Bob... the stats indicate yes... but I would trend to a higher horsepower.
Look at the weight ratios.

Keep in mind the logical approach to this... you can always throttle down...
but it's hard to throttle up when you need the extra omph and don't have it
at hand.

Seriously Bob... the weight differences between a 6 hp and a 9.9hp shouldn't
be the deciding factor. They are minimal and well within your handling
capacities... unless of course those last pics really are an accurate
representation of your current shape. :-)

The Tohatsu/Nissan 4 cycle 6 weighs 55 lbs. The 9.9 weighs 114 lbs.
Mooron, please don't give advice when you don't have a clue. It's embarassing
for you...and us.

Bob... you are fixated on a four stroke... don't bother. A two stroke is
just fine for your use and much cheaper. My 9.9 is easily handled with one
hand and hoisting into place on the rail when stowed is a piece of cake.

In regards to advise Bob... you asked.. don't start whining now!

I have over 40 years experience with kickers. I won't give you bad advise.

There are no two strokes available here anymore. All dealers must sell the
superior and cleaner 4s. The 4s are quiet and require no fuel mix as well.
