If on another day and time someone on that boat had a medical
emergency, so be it.

I have every reason to believe they are one in the same. A large Deck Salon
vessel with a dark hull dropped her sails while passing a race and called for
help. No one in the race provided aid. A powerboat got to her and relayed the
sick passenger to port. The owner reported that he was smack in the middle of a
race and no one had their radios on or was responding, even though several
boats passed VERY CLOSE. He waved at them. They waved back!
There is not another Tayana DS48 in the area and my friends was not sailing for
nearly 10 days. Seems pretty clear to me.
