Four British rowers sawed at a position 360 nm west of Cornwall by The
"Scandinavian Reefer", running pineapples and bananas to Ireland. They were on route from Newfoundland to Cornwall (ca. 1825 nm). The plan was to beat the 108 year old record of 55 days set by a team of Norwegian rowers. 39 days out the remainders of Alex hit them, and a 20 m wave destroyed their boat.
