Because the greater the risk the more cowards will vote for him! Ya'see the
kinds of people likely to support Bush are sorry excuses for Americans
anyway, eager to cast off the liberty our forebearers sacrificed and died
for on the promise of safety - and the scareder they are the more likely
they are to vote for Bush and his nazi-like measures.

Nobody promised my ancestor safety when he arrived in 1730 and moved to the
frontier. America offered him opportunity if he could survive, but safety?
Forget it! No government defended him or his descendents nor their property
from indian attack even during the "bloody sevens" (1777) - the people
themselves took up arms and fought off Brit inspired attacks just as
Americans had always done. They even had to fight the government itself
during the war of Yankee Aggression, when gangs calling themselves militia
sacked the town and burned their mill. And lest you think I'm bragging, let
me hasten to point out that this was the norm of that day. Were it not we
wouldn't be here!

In Jefferson's day real patriots would have given the sponsors of the
"Patriot Act" a fair and speedy trial and hanged the lot of them for treason
and sedition! Today, the Fearful Majority is preparing to re-elect them and
the greater the perceived threat the more of them will vote for safety at
any price.

Republican Response:
"You attack my country and I am going KICK YOUR ASS!!"

Liberal Democrat response:
"You attacked my country and killed Americans. Lets be friends and talk
about how it is not your fault, but your father's and big corporations.
Maybe we can raise taxes and fund some special programs for you. Here is a
condom and hypodermic syringe and drugs, it will make you feel better. Don't
worry, it's free, American tax dollars paid for them "

The actual Republican Response:

"You attack my country, and I am going to KICK SOMEBODY ELSE'S ASS!
(while letting you quietly sneak away and prepare to attack us again.)"

Now, what does this have to do with sailing?

Wow..congrats I guess What are you getting and what do you still
have left?

For a time I owned two boats and it kind of reminded me of the joke
about bigamy...

hehehehe,
Well, one of the sailboats I still have is a small homemade Cat, which I may
sacrifice to the Viking gods via fire.
The other is a Hunter 170 hull I got free. The way I got it was the guy who
had it saw a small hairline crack in the transom. He insisted that they
replace the entire hull until they finally did. He raced it. He let me have
it if I hauled it off. The hull is fine, but it needs rigging and rubber. It
is a 1999. I was just going to give it away. It is a cool looking boat. I
sold my South Coast 22' and my South Coast 26' center cockpit and I just
bought a South Coast 26' aft cockpit in almost perfect condition. 6'-2"
headroom on a trailerable boat, with a retractable 1,400 lb. bulb / fin
keel. It draws 22" keel up 4'-6" keel down. It's a sweet boat :-)

What do boats and dogs have in common?
Poor men have one, real poor men have several....

Sounds good I was tempted by a project boat earlier in the summer,
but I sobered up

I had a friend who got so drunk that he woke up with a Sailboat the next
morning and found out he had paid $700 for it.
The wife wanted a sailboat and she made him fix it up. Hehehehe
She took advantage of his drunken condition I would say..
