Winston Churchill, when notified of the beginning of an attack by German
buzz bombs, told his aide that he was going to finish his cigar before going
to the bomb shelter. He did this repeatedly, ostensibly because smoking was
disallowed in the shelters. So can we presume that Churchill's brain was
malfunctioning as well, and that he, too, was a semi-literate idiot?

Not only that the first plane that hit the first WTC building, they
did not know it was a terrorist attack, everyone assumed it was a
accident.

I saw it on the news live and thought it was an accident until the
second plane hit.
