A friend gave me a used Snark last year,
and I have been hauling it around on my wife's minivan, using the factory-installed rack. Now I would like to carry it on my 1999 Ford Contour. Yakima makes a nice modular rack system that mounts on the Contour. I am looking for advice on the best sort of brackets to hold the Snark steady on the rack. Castlecraft recommends cartopping the Snark upside-down, so I am considering using either the Yakima Gunwale Brackets (which come with straps) or the Yakima Loadstops (which use separate straps). Yakima says either one would probably work, but does not have a specific recommendation for the Snark. Does anyone have any experience with either of these, or any of the other options (e.g. Yakima Hully Rollers)? Of course, I would also use bow and stern tie-down straps. Thanks, Mike Ciaraldi ------------- |
