In True Texas fasion Lance took the Tour De France for the 6th strait
time.

President Bush gave him a call from the Western Whitehouse here in
Texas to let him know us Texans think his preformance was "awesome".

Kerry used Lances victory while out stumping for votes....Lance
refused to take Kerry's telephone call, saying he had enough Frogs and
Nazi's to deal with there in France.

Way to go Lance! Looking forward to number 7.

No one will ever break Lances records. Cept maybe another Texan.

you make it to Midland before the end of August, be sure to make it to

more people bike to work in Austin than the Japs do in Tokyo.

The rest of the world needs to train on the hills of Austin in the

I have heard the experts say that Lance Armstrong is probably the
single most tested (for drugs) athlete in the world. They literally
have knocked on his door at 3:00 in the morning anytime of the year to
test the guy. Unless they actually have evidence of such a charge, it
seems only fair to give him the credit he has earned.

EPO!

Yep. No opinion as to whether Lance is using or not, but the stats on
heart attacks & strokes amongst cyclists are way out of line for their
population cohort. EPO results in more blood platelets, enhancing
oxygen storage and endurance, but the blood literally gets thicker and
harder to pump about.

Thom,

This is the typical overseas jelious responce. We all know OZ is not
typical of his fellow countryman. But,Italy, France, Germany, and a
few other nations are totally jelious of the USA and can not face the
fact that we are the world leaders from Bicycle races to spreading
Freedom and democracy. The only way they can feel good about themselfs
is to try to put us down. To try to put a negative twist to each and

And they are upset because we could care less what they think.

There are certainly tests for it however a number of retired athletes
are coming out now admitting they used EPO and even with regular
testing NEVER returned a positive.

It's interesting that Armstrong has never AFAIK said that he hasn't
taken performance enhancing drugs only that he has never tested
positive.

altitude training.

Also, I would be very interested about the group the cyclist were tested

Cyclists against the population in general IIRC. Think about it, Thom.
The fat lazy Americans in their 20's and 30's don't as a rule have a
high incidence of strokes & heart attacks. If you have a group of fit
people with a noticeable deviation from the norm, and in a sport where
the use of things like EPO is common, and you know that the use of EPO
causes an increase in strokes & heart attacks......

I still don't take anything away from Lance. Even if he *was* using, so
what? Most likely a lot of his top competition in the race were, too,
and he still won.

IMHO they should have an 'open' class in 'sport' and allow those
'athletes' to take anything they want provided they agreed not to sue
anyone or ask for life support if/when their bodies packed up. Could be
entertaining and a lot more honest that things are now.

I'm sorry but I was speaking of the Eruo people. They are a democracies
but they still have their sitting kings and Queens, their house of Lords
They still have the Knighting, their Lords and Ladies and their children
are born to a higher class of society. It's still there. They poo poo it
but still pay homage to it.

The ultra conservatives even in this country cling to it. It is pretty
evident right here it this discussion group. A liberal is a low life to
a conservative.

Our government is not a pure democracy. It is a Democratic Republic,
with an elected elite that has the final say of the person that will
lead us. We do have a safe guard of an eigth year limit.

Oz the older countries still have their sitting classes and that isn't
right.

Er, THom, a couple of those are ours, yes. Do a Google on
"florey" and "penicillin" for a start. Try "Bragg and Bragg", too
(my old school). better check out the invention and original
development of the jet engine too, not to mention the pioneering
rocketry which, while not ours, were not actually US
either....but generally, we punch above our weight in the
original science and original medicine stakes, especially when
you factor in population size.

mankind. Or wouldn't you agree?

decline, but then it wasn't me that mentioned it. It was the Oz

Oz,

You mean to say there is some one down there still working with our
declining culture? You'll have to forgive him Oz. Be kind and show him
the error of his ways.

OK OZ,

I'll try to understand where I'm wrong, A culture in decline is a
Culture that people would be trying to get away from? People would go
other places rather than be involved with this Culture? Illegal
immigration wouldn't be a problem for a declining Culture, right? A
declining Culture is one where foreign aid would be necessary, right? A
culture in decline wouldn't be able to provide aid to other countries
and wouldn't be able to import from others? A declining Culture
certainly wouldn't be a market area, would it?

Oz a declining Culture would have a bunch of dumb asses like me, who
weren't aware of their decline. Please enlighten me with the facts of
our overall decline?
