Is the Hunter 285 a slug?

Please do try and pay attention..... I've sailed a lot of boats...

Nimrod,
Good for you. And as the rest of the group knows but you failed to
understand my comments were based on the boat being a late model 28 footer with
standing headroom and an inboard diesel that could be had for a price in the
teens. I stated that that represented value. That's all. Then you jump in
with your winded story of saving some Hunter driver's life and how you easily
sailed up the channel. Nobody cares. You may be right about the boat's
sailing ability. Nobody cares. Your attempted flame didn't address my points
therefore you shouldn't have tried it. You continue to look like a fool.

Dipwad
Misconstrue all you want.... you failed to comprehend my comments were
based on actual sailing of the vessel.... or near model in mind.... I sort
of understand that you are miffed by my interpretatation of the parameters
regarding the sailing characteristics of a vessel you have only seen sailing
and only been aboard while dockside..... which seems to afford you
sufficient credence to confirm it's sailing abilities. You are sounding more
like Bobsprit every day and every post.

I'm not only addressing all your points..... but in fact I'm skewering you
with facts you haven't seemed to consider in this ill thought out attack on
my rather balanced and informative statement.

Loco.... you are once again showing up to a gunfight with a knife... a day
late and a dollar short.

It's a situation I've become comfortable with when dealing with you.......
and I'm elated to see you are standing firm as the benchmark of Base
Ignorance.

ROFLOL................ stop your killing me! "Near model" You admit you'r not
sure what the hell boat is under discussion. Your a real piece of work.

Secondly, my gripe was never with your comments. If you think the boat is a
****ty sailor that's fine. I could care less. My gripe was with your slamming
my comments which I admitted were not based on the sailing ability of the boat.
Go to bed. After 6 posts you still don't get it.

Wow Loco..... are you now telling us that each model year had vastly
different structural and sailing characteristics??? .... or was it just the
model year you had in mind that was so superior to all the other models??

|
| Secondly, my gripe was never with your comments.

Sure it was Loco..... that was evident.

Where did I slam your comments? I never said it was a ****ty sailor.... I
said it sailed like a pig! That comparison was based on the abilities of
several other fin keeled 26-28 foot boats I have sailed on.

....and now you admit your statements were not based on the sailing abilities
of the boat!!??? Bwahahahahahahahaaaa.... that's like recommending a car
even if it's a POS to drive!

| Go to bed. After 6 posts you still don't get it.

I get it alright...... you're one of those pompous club racers that can't
stand being called on any claim they might make.

Stick Around... I'll make you Famous! :-D
[ lord knows Bobsprit has tried for years with no success]

Suck It Up Loco.... Bwahahahahahahaaaa!!

Dimwit,
Here is an exact copy of your reply to my post regarding the 285s features
that I posted that I felt made the boat a VALUE for under twenty grand:

Surly You Jest Loco!!
Fast... No!
Upgrade from a Mac26X..... barely!
Assumption of Quality...... Base-less.

I never said it was "fast" I never said it was an "upgrade" from anything
and I never mentioned "quality" So as you must admit your acusation that I
might be "jesting" was a crude attempt at slamming but you used all the wrong
facts. On top of all this you later admited you wern't even sure what boat was
under discussion. So you keep posting what you never said. LOL..........

Oh WOW!!!! Yeah that was a real SLAM!!!
Bwahahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!
Almost as bad as being accused of being Anti Semitic! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

Nope I wouldn't admit that at all!
But in case you want to comprehend how a "slam" should be delivered it would
go something like this:

Loco Flatulated this Gem -
Don't know what the one you saw was doing and I don't know how fast they

are
but I do know that they were used for the Liberty Cup in N.Y. one year.

Oh my Loco... does that mean you "Think" the boat must be fast?
Bwahahahahaha Idiot!

On another note I think they are a pretty good value at times.

-You 'Think" they're a pretty good value but it seems you are clueless in
basing those facts once again. Way to go Einstein!

Mid 80s 28footer, standing headroom, H&C pressure water, inboard diesel,

not bad looking,
decent amount of sail area. I've seen them advertised as low as the mid
teens.

-Have you now Loco?? Bwahahahahahaaa what model year mid 80's are you
blathering about now you mentally challenged ignoramus?

See.... that's how a 'slam" would be delivered...... what you misconstrued
as a slam due to your paranoia and low self esteem.... was merely a
'comment'!! ;-)

On top of all this you later admited you wern't even sure what boat was
| under discussion. So you keep posting what you never said. LOL..........

I did say it was about 9 years ago.... the boat was new. It was a new pig!
Just like your old pig of a boat. That's a 'slam' by the way..... ;-)

Bwahahahahahahahaaa
