You might also want to have your c reactive protein checked, as
well as your homocysteine level. They are very good indicators of heart health. The test are cheap and require a simple blood test. FYI: C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein made in the liver. Increased levels in the blood are a non-specific signal of inflammation in the body. A CRP test measures the amount of C-reactive protein in the blood, but can indicate only the potential presence of inflammation. Additional tests may be required to determine the location or cause of the inflammation, if appropriate. Homocysteine is an amino acid produced by the human body and found in the blood. High levels of homocysteine may damage blood vessels, cause blood vessel blockages to occur, and cause blood to clot more easily. This can lead to vascular problems including heart disease and stroke. You can reduce the homocysteine levels in your body by eating foods containing folate, also called folic acid. These include fruits and leafy green vegetables. If your level of homocysteine is high enough your doctor may recommend folic acid and B vitamin supplements. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Jonathan Ganz" wrote in message ... Damned Straight!!! What's with the friggin' males acting like pussies
nowadays?? I'll just re-post a reply I once fired at the venerable Capt. Neal when he claimed to be "dieting"... "10"... 172lbs...... last BP 3 hours ago at 115/65 & 58 pulse rate. I'm 48 ..... I smoke, I drink and I take extra cholesteral on everything. I eat what I want, whenever I want and never gain weight. I can hold my breath for 3 minutes and can easily run a mile at 3/4 throttle. I can run down a moose in thick brush and still have enough moxy to keep a squaw busy all night. I get up early and stay up late. I can out drink, out fight, out dance and out sail most anyone here., You are nothing but a frail imitation of a man relying on female diets to retain some semblance of normal operating parameters. You are less than a man and an imitation of a sailor. You disgust me in your endeavors to avoid a feast and your inability to befriend even a single soul to share it with.. Nonetheless you pathetic wannabe.... I raise a toast and tear flesh from the carcass on the pit in your honour. One can hope for no less..... Sometimes you need a Big Hammer to Drive the Point Home!! The fact is most people eat way more than they need.... and refuse to stress themselves or set goals that require work to achieve. Like I said to my 13 year old nephew the other day while he was attempting to hoist himself out of the water and up onto the boat without a ladder.... " Look Boy!!... You got only 2 options!!... 1)- Loose weight to match your strength!!...or...2)-Gain strength to match your weight.!!"
