Of course they can still protest you on that ploy...

Cheers

Do you soak yours in vinegar before cooking? It makes a very nice marinade
and then you don't have to use so much pickle when you grind it to sandwich
spread....

No, I prefer to use someone else's; I need mine to shout
"starboard" with.

Even on Port tack? Devious!
;)

Works, though! Look, most people can't tell their left from
their right without a minute or so's thought. So more so for
larboard and starboard! by the time they've worked out that
actually they're the ones on starboard, they've already altered
and we've gained those handy extra seconds!

If they're that thick, I think a protest would not be something
to worry about. (in our short but blazing racing career, protests
aimed at us were voluble, often including unnecessary obscenity
and blasphemy, but never formal. I'm delighted to learn there is
now a folding schooner creating mayhem in Queensland's "picnic"
races. Flying Tadpole II fortnuately is not lakeworthy at
present, languishing in Pt Augusta awaiting a major
workover/rebuild, since the folding schooner at 30' has the edge
on both hull and planing speed--provided it doesn't fold..)
