We . . . picked up some friends at Bayside
[Queens, N.Y.] . . . . near the Throgsneck bridge . . . . Where can one do this exactly? Is what used to be known as the Whitestone Marina & Watersports Center sill operating? other? You could pick up people at several small clubs between the bridges. But we usually make pick-ups at the Bayside Marine where we used to keep our Catalina. RB |

We saw Stuff like this, too, but also were bemused by the number of
smaller racing boats (e.g., near Larchmont) that stayed out and seemed to be having a wonderful time. It was a bit challenging, not due to wind strength, but because wind direction changed so often and so strongly. Not a good day for a relaxing sail. Everyone was certainly have a good time for the most part. Of course this wasn't "real" sailing for someone like Mooron! RB |
