Default Near Knockdown???

We . . . picked up some friends at Bayside
[Queens, N.Y.] . . . . near the Throgsneck bridge . . . .

Where can one do this exactly? Is what used to be known as the
Whitestone Marina & Watersports Center sill operating? other?

You could pick up people at several small clubs between the bridges. But we
usually make pick-ups at the Bayside Marine where we used to keep our Catalina.

We saw Stuff like this, too, but also were bemused by the number of
smaller racing boats (e.g., near Larchmont) that stayed out and seemed
to be having a wonderful time.

It was a bit challenging, not due to wind strength, but because wind direction
changed so often and so strongly. Not a good day for a relaxing sail. Everyone
was certainly have a good time for the most part.
Of course this wasn't "real" sailing for someone like Mooron!
