Has anyone here actually seen a shark attack or the victim of one?
Raise your hands... yes, I've seen the aftermath up close. I was walking down the beach in north county San Diego. Came across a guy standing in the shallow surf in a deserted section of the beach, just him and his girl friend. He was standing in a sloshing pool of blood, she was hysterical. He was clearly in shock... just standing there. I got him on dry land, then took a look at his foot/ ankle area. A big piece was missing/hanging on the lower back calf. I figured he didn't have much time because of loss of blood, didn't have anything to tie it off or compress it. His gf was not in any shape to go and get help. So, after a lot of coaxing, I got her to help him compress the wound with their hands. Then, I went for help. Fortunately, I was much younger and the normal 40 minute trip took only about half that time. I never went back after the paramedics went for him, but I heard he was ok. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Bart Senior" wrote in message t... I have some better ones. This is the result of a powerboat accident, injuries inflicted by propellers. If nothing else, this ought to instill deep respect for how dangerous a spinning prop can be!!! http://www.consumptionjunction.com/d...s/cj_36012.jpg RB |
