Waddaya mean "no redeeming virtues"? It's very convenient (as you said
yourself). Doesn't sail worth a poot, but convenience is worth a lot to
some people.

Its really amazing. Someone posted to the hunter forum about the best
options to get on the 365. All the replies were adament about the in
mast furler. My slip neighbor has that boat and rig and as you said,
it doesn't sailworth a poot. I suggested to the forum that they forget
the in mast furling, opt for the full roached main, and buy a good set
of lazy jacks, stack pack , dutchman or other sail handling system,
with single line reefing. Mild ****storm ensued. These jokers just
don't get it. the HP's in the main. I've sailed the boat with a full
main, and it is fast.

Marc, this is typical for Scotty, Horvath and others here. Try to teach them
about rigs or anchors and they start arguing about whisker poles and cheap
VHFs.

Excellent post, Bob!!!

First, you tell us that we should attack a fire by closing the companionway
hatch ,,,, and now you you are telling us about the power in the mainsail.

Sheeesh, Bob! You are obviously very experienced.

How many fires have you extinguished? How many times have you used a
mainsail?

IIRC the few times I looked at boobs' boring ''sailing'' pics, the main was
still in its cover.

Just one, aboard a Endeavour 32. The owner let out too much alcohol and the
curtains and headliner caught. I put it out with an extinguisher.
How many boat fires did you put out?
