I'm using the III Plus for about 3 years now. I'm happy with its
performance, but hoping they improve on the accuracy of their Mapsource products. Scout "Flying Tadpole" wrote It depends which cables you have. I use a Garmin 12 (original) and 12XL professionally. Both have cables that drive from a 12v source AND have a serial plug for downloading. They cost somewhat more than the cables most use which are single-purpose (ie power to gps OR gps to laptop). A disadvantage is that when connected solely to the laptop (office) or solely to a cigarette lighter (vehicle), there;s 2m of serial cable or 2m of 12v cord floating around . |
