BOTTOMED OUT

Matt Colie leaves, another rat the newsgroup ship deserting!
Gone to the dogs, indeed it has, by politics it's split.
The outside worldly pressures have us all to type reverting,
With our postings mostly missing all the wholesome, old-time
sh*t.

The glory days of ay-ess-ay are now far in the past!
The remnants but a shadow wan of what they were before.
There's little left 'cept spits and spats and siphons at the
last,
Though Bobsprit does his solid best to fatten it once more.

It's Captain Neal's departure! That's what's queered the pitch!
So for you and me, Matt Colie, I'm afraid life's...just a bitch.

So sad it is to see ole Sol a-settin'

We log an era ending, mourn the loss,

And wait and watch and wonder are we getting'

A Captain new, a curio, a boss?

As each new storm brings changes to the shorelines

And washes gone the muck beneath our decks,

This tempest too shall pass and we, the bylines,

Must welcome in the next peculiar Wreck!

Chopped Liver...that's all that we are...chopped liver,
Not worth a fiver, as hard as we try,
We post til we quiver
and still
We're nothing but chopped liver.

True, we've bubbled and sqeaked our best,
And the fruits here are all over-ripe,
But liver, well chopped, at least passes one test---
It's very much better than tripe.

Must we indeed? WHite powder Scout's been snortin'!
We need not "must" nor welcome any dreck,
Since odds are even that they'll pain our neck.
Who knows? The next might be a new Paul Fortin!

Ah, right you are that we have choices - many!
To need, or not, or welcome not ~ I've lied?
Then grab your lance, and meet me at the beachhead,
And show me how one halts the rushing tide!

Katysails threatens her sad food blender:
"Instead of chopped liver, here's seafood extender!"

It's very much better than tripe.

But not much....

I've also tried snipe,

But hadn't the touch,

My bass-o-matic has started to gripe

Every button I touch

Flying monkeys are ripe!

Will they taste good in fudge?
