There's nothing anyone on a small boat can do against a 50 cal (or
even a 30 cal) machine gun.

You could shoot the person firing the 50 cal.

Yeah, you could. And you better be sure you hit them coz the return
fire is gonna be a stream of tracer so they can walk it right across
your boat, nicely compensating for pitch/roll.

I've been shooting long guns for nearly 40 years now. That one is a
real bad bet.
