Default The Eagles Flag

Mooron stated that the USCG Eagle while in Canaduh was flying a 40X60
foot flag.

I always thought when visiting another country your were suppose to
fly thier
flag as well as yours. And that flag is suppose to be as big as yours.

And the flags were to be flown at the same height.

I know while I worked supply boat in the Bay of Campeche Mexico they
made a big issue of it.

True or not?

And why and when do you dip your flag?

You'd need to check on this to be sure, but I believe a "government"
vessel only flies the flag of it's National "government".
Also, when a civilian vessel passes a "government" vessel, flag
etiquette requires it to dip it's ensign. (g rarely done nowadays)
Again, this is from memory and would need confirmation to be sure.

Nonsense!

And the flags were to be flown at the same height.

More nonsense!

I *should* dip my flag to a vessel flying a senior ensign. However, these
days it isn't done much. The other vessel has to dip her ensign in
acknowledgement - so it just gives them extra work to do.

Joe,

Visiting vessel should fly homeport's flag from the yardarm and is not
reguired to be same size as vessel's Flag. ( Should be large enough to
show respect)

You Dip Your Flag to: "PUFF & J.Patches"
Hope this helps

Not necessary.

You'll find this issue in a number of countries. Again, from memory,
their flag should be flown higher than yours.

And why and when do you dip your flag?
