Default Can I be in the club now? Huh huh can I?

Gongrats on the sailboat. Looks nice. Joining 'the club' is simple. The only
requirements are, (1) owning a sailboat and (2) paying the dues. Initial
joining fee is $245.00, yearly dues are $20.
Send cash (no canadjun crap) check, money order or gold doubloons to the

Ok, I'm all over it. Is there a membership card, and do we wear
cool jackets like the bowling team?

There's a card *and* a 'Certificate Of Membership' (for mounting on a
bulkhead, so that both the club inspectors, and ordinary visitors to your
vessel, can instantly appraise your status).

Proper, navy blue blazer, please. The club's embroidered 'Wheel & Anchor'
logo should be sewn onto the blazer pocket (will be sent in the post). The
cravat and 'Little Admiral' cap are optional, but recommended.

....barring the above an alternate dress code of a fake Rasta Dread wig and
any earthy coloured cannabis fabric clothing combined with vast quantities
of booze aboard will pass muster for membership.

Remember.... the difference between adversity and adventure is attitude.

....barring the above an alternate dress code of wearing as little as
possible, presuming an adequate use of sunblock, is preferable to stuffy old
navy attire and hats with scrambled eggs running across the brim....sarongs
and pareus are always acceptable (I dug out my summer clothes before our
trip to find that I have 8 pairs of khaki shorts and only one pair of
navy....nothing like khaki and a white shirt....)

That will clash with the tin foil hats most members here wear.

Joe warned: That will clash with the tin foil hats most members here wear

You weren't supposed to tell him that until after the secret handshake....

Yes, and an ASA burgee for your yacht. All will be sent to you as soon as
your check clears.

We had a burgee contest last winter but nothing ever came of it....Jon might
have the results still posted on his website...
