I meant a combination of the Turkey and Schnapps... called
a Snowshoe... you need two to walk.

I don't know Johnathan, sounds hard to swallow. Hopefully Ol Thom
will drop by, Id like an expert opinion.

Peppermint Schnaps,

Dont think so, you would be sick before numb.

Wild Turkey,
Maybe, but really not enough kick.

or any decent rum.

Yeah, but getting numb fast might require 151 or better.

What do you think would be the best medical booze to have onboard for
emergencys? Like a hook in the hand, a few stitches, setting a broken
arm
ect...

I wish I had used the bacarrdi 151 instead of waiting and going to
the hospital ER late at night when I had a hook in my thumb, the hook
entered at the quick and wanted to poke out of the knuckle but did not
break thru the skin, i tried like hell to pull it on thru but couldent
get it thru because the pain almost made me passout, seems booze is an
excellent way to ignore pain in a fix. The ER shot it up with novacane
and used pliers to pull it thru. 385 dollars. If your a few days
offshore with a simple accident a bottle would be nice

151 is strong but whats better?

Were is ol Thom when ya need him.........

It's damn hard to take more than one, but after the second,
you can't remember what the problem was....

Jon,

My rule for drinking is: "Like tits on a woman; One not enough and three
to many."

Let's; "Drink to That!"

Joe,

Wasn't going to answer that one but as you asked:---

I keep a 1/2 Gal of medium priced Canadian Whisky in the Nav Station
Locker. All my crew know its there but I don't allow a free bar while
sailing.

I'm the only one allowed to pour under way (Been known to sweeten coffee
now and then) That is my boat booze and when the boat is docked and put
to bed, the bottle is fair game for a single round and other than that
its only for emergences. It is unbelievable how many poisonous snaes get
aboard that damn vessel!!!

Good man, Horvath! I was beginning to think that all Americans were wimps.

I keep various drinks aboard.... I don't encourage the consumption of
alcohol whilst underway, but once we are tied up I expext the crew to
"relax". When I say "relax" I do *not* mean one or two drinks. I mean
that we stay up until the small hours, solving the world's problems.

And up till now, I thought you were a total asshole. Now I know it's
not total.

Screw the rules! They're more like guidelines, anyways.

I'm surprised that Horvath would make such impolite comments about me. I'm
the only one here who actually thinks that Horvath is intelligent. Maybe he
dislikes me because I can see through his carefully crafted illusion of
ignorance.
