I believe that if there is a god, he wouldn't want us to be stupid. A god that
could create our world by tossing out a "big bang" would be very impressive.
The god described in Genesis is a cute metaphor for children and very simple
people. Not that I don't like Genesis - Its by far my favorite piece of
literature - but to teach it as literal truth to anyone older than 6 years is
abuse.

You might be right. However, when people suggest that we have managed to
evolve over a period of 600,000 years, then I just laugh.

200,000 years ago is the current guess. That's when a couple hundred women
walked out of sub-Saharan Africa to populate the world.

when people suggest that we have managed to
evolve over a period of 600,000 years, then I just laugh.
