Default Navigation Question

10 gallon fuel tank and 10 hp motor to cross the English Channel under power,
because the winds were not dependable and donny had to "get there" before the
weekend was over.

That was donny's claim. Is he telling a different story these days?

Good memory, Scott!

Nah! He's still a complete "TWIT"!

I never claimed a 10 hp engine.

The fuel tank is indeed a 10 gallon tank!

It's all on Google.

Jax can't use Google ....

I hope that Jax doesn't think that I am being "abusive".

Default Navigation Question

10 gallons will go through a finely tuned 10 hp diesel in about 20 hours, or
about the time, donny, it would take *you* to MOTOR across the English Channel.
Are you saying *you* ran *your* 20 hp engine at super econo cruiser to cross?

(and don't give us an horsehit that *your* diesel gets better fuel mileage that
the engine manufacturer can get.)

I guess the load & throttle setting don't matter at all when calculating
fuel consumption, eh Jax?

You know almost as much about diesels as you do about lifeline
requirements for racing.

hey squathead, notice the reference to "10 hp"? That means ---- 10 ---- hp,
not 2 or 3 or 5.

Jax,

A gallon an hour is to high a fuel usage for a 20 hp engine pushing a
Beni. That is about 4 times it actual usage

Prove your manufactures figures. I think you've been caugth in a lie
again. I don't think you have any figures for a 20 hp diesel

no, old fart. specific fuel consumption figures for brand new engines
operating under laboratory conditions is about 16 hp for each gallon burned per
hour. You can check the manufacturers' spec sheet if you wish.

Jax, my engine is a 30hp (or more precisely 28 point something hp).
Perhaps you could re-do your calculations for a 30 hp engine?
