Default Outboard Question

I'm picking up a 2 stroke outboard for a friend (it's a gift) next week. Nissan
appears to be a popular motor, but is it the best of the lot? What's the best
motor for under 700 or so or are they all the same?

thanks,

RB

Default Outboard Question

What you got against your friend? A real friend would never get an out of
date soon to be banned two stroke. A real friend would buy a four stroke.
But if you insist get a Gamefisher. Buying from Sears will always show a
friend how much of a friend he (or she) really is(n't).

MST

Friends don't let friends use two strokes.

They won't ban the use of existing motors, only the sale of new ones. My friend
sails an Oday tempist and used a 3.5 for years and years because it was so easy
for him to lift. It's what he wants.

For $700, you could buy him a better boat with a working engine.

His Oday Tempest is a sweet little boat. He's been sailing it for 20 years.

Then buy him the matching Seagull.

Now that would be plain nasty.

At that size, I think there are only 2 or 3 major mfgs. and they are
all rebranded. Go with the cheapest.
