wrote this crap: As traffic flagger I and the majority of those in the state earned an average $8.50 an hour. But if I could have got in Local 440 the Laborers Union and on a 'restricted to union's only federally funded project, it would have been $22.83 an hour. What was amusingly dubbed "prevailing wage." They represent about 10% of the flaggers in the State at best with the gov't employees union representing another 10% with an average wage of $16.00 an hour. Nope you guys were right. Principles don't put sails on the boat. Now I'm a strong union supporter and shop steward making the big bucks for the highest paying employer in the country!!!! At $16 an hour? Ha Ha!
