Jobless claims on the rise!
Since I've been President I've gotten rid of over 2 million jobs that are
more suitable for foriegners. Not only that, I've invited millions of foriegners to come to America to take up more jobs. So in fact, I've created more jobs than lost and soon you'll see the documentation to prove it! For you people use to working, don't worry, chill. The government is going to give you free pills to calm your nerves! No one will chide you for being a non working bum because we know what everyone says today. It's only a matter of time before that kind of speech becomes outlawed too! Don't feel left out because there's a patronizing handout coming your way soon! We have the fastest printing presses, loads of new paper and an ocean of ink!! There's plenty of money for everyone! My plan for massive inflation will pull your debt ridden butts out of hock by making money worth less. Vote for me! Vote for me! G. Bush |

Jobless claims on the rise!
Since Bush became President I've made more money than any time in my life.
I just finished 223 days on one ship and before that did 200 plus on another one. But thanks to the stalwart supporters of labor in the Democratic party I get an even better deal than that. I now qualify for six months of unemployment and don't even have to go on job search. Union does that for me. When I do work I often get heavily inflated Davis-Bacon wages thanks to the same source who by the way protected our industry with the Jones Act. Who pays for it? Grin! And if I want to go back to work before the six months is up I just go to the union hall, register and get the next ship. Work or not it's my choice but the unemployment pay keeps arriving in the meantime. So I have to thank both the Republicans and the Democrats for this great economy and these great jobs and the very good pay scale! In one word life is . . . Sweet! Now they are passing a new highway bill in Congress. If approved as is it will put lots of my union brothers and sisters back to work at wages 2 to 3 times higher than the local norm. But that's only for union members. Thanks to our supporters in both parties . . .We've got plenty of jobs! What's more we support them right back. Why this year I've given a whole $20 to the union PAC and another $20 to the opposition and $200 to my own party. And the best part is they don't dare dick around with us. After all none of them is a Reagan. Reagan was a former union president, I knew Reagan, and Bubba, Bush, et. al. You ain't no Reagan. Oh by the way. Almost slipped my mind. Thanks to you taxpayers in the majority of the working class, you just get to pay the bill. What? Oh? Guess you . . . . shoulda formed a union. M. Jobless claims on the rise!
How am I abandoning principles? I've been fairly mercenary working for the
US Government for many, many years. I'm just more honest about it than most. Surely you don't think I do this for any other reason? Hey and it came with a retirement program too! I say the principle is go with the highest paying employer and take all you can get for the job you do. That's a union job with a federal level wage. Don't forget, it wasn't Mr. Bush's party that inflated the union wages and guaranteed our income. He's just using a program left in place from a previous administration. If I was working for those other principles . . . .I'd still be a $78 a month soldier who thought the corn fields of Iowa were worth my life. Or that it was an honor to be drafted. Hey! I earned the right to all of this. Why would I not take it? After all it was members of this discussion group that encouraged me to get a union job! But look on the bright side. In less than two years I will have dropped well over $60,000 into the local boating business community. Not great but certainly above average. What you call trickle down! You pay taxes, the gov't takes its handling fee; they pay me (minus more taxes); I don't charge a fee because they pay for my room, board, and medical except maybe union dues and that's tax deductible as well. Then I spend most of it on buying and refitting my boat. That's good for the economy of Port Townsend, Washington . . . . and even better for me. By the way, statements like "Jobless Claims On The Rise" is meaningless. Unless you know the parameters of the definition. The same with unemployment figures. It used to be after six months those who were unemployed dropped of the roles no matter if employed or not. Is that still true? I don't really know. It used to be employment was based on 95% of the available work force. What does that mean. Then in '93 It became 90% of the available work force and for every two jobs created a third was inferred. What did that mean? I don't know either. No base line is ever given much less a usable definition. Sure made Bubba's figures look good though. As traffic flagger I and the majority of those in the state earned an average $8.50 an hour. But if I could have got in Local 440 the Laborers Union and on a 'restricted to union's only federally funded project, it would have been $22.83 an hour. What was amusingly dubbed "prevailing wage." They represent about 10% of the flaggers in the State at best with the gov't employees union representing another 10% with an average wage of $16.00 an hour. Nope you guys were right. Principles don't put sails on the boat. Now I'm a strong union supporter and shop steward making the big bucks for the highest paying employer in the country!!!! But I still vote Libertarian. And all of that isn't counting my permanent retirement. In effect you all are not only buying and outfitting my boat you will pay for my cruising until I die! Gotta love you all! Sweeet! THANKS! Jobless claims on the rise!
Is that
still true? I don't really know.=20 No. Depending on what industry you were dumped out of, you can get many = extensions. In this area, (where industry is failing left and right) = many technical, engineering, and support staff have been forcibly = retired, laid off, or dropped from payroll with over 20 years into their = companies. These people, who have worked their entire lives and have = not been a drain on the system can get extensions, sometimes up to three = years worth. The sad part is that there are no jobs for them. = Companies look for new and eager, fresh out of college types that = haven't gotten used to high wages and great benefit packages. So if = there are 15 candidates, and 14 of them are misplaced from industry, = most likely it will be the college graduate or the very inexperienced = that gets the job. --=20 katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. Have you gotta point? No, not the one on your head, one in your reply.
