Interesting junk mail
http://www.pinnacleyachts.com/
Inexpensive, oversized postcard. "Leaseshare A Magnificent New 2004 Jeanneau 37 Foot Yacht Near Detroit" "Sail the Entire Season for the All-Inclusive Price of $4,350" On the back, it explains that the "season" consists of "22 day and evening" sails on Lake St. Clair. They must be having some success in Chicago, they claim to have been in business for 7 years. The website shows a fleet of older(pre-2004) boats, I wonder if anyone in these parts will take the bait? I called the 800 #, and as I suspected, the "22 days and evenings" are just that, you can't have the boat for more than a day at a time, which probably helps the real owners enormously on insurance costs. It does sound like something that might appeal to a business owner, you could possibly write off the cost of the lease as an expense. John Cairns |
