Maybe I can get my hands on a wrecked GM Precept sedan-- a
diesel-electric hybrid. Charge the system from the turning prop while sailing and use the stored energy during times of no wind or manuvering. I wonder if a hybrid boat has been buildt yet, besides the standard Motor Sailing vessel which is by defination a hybrid. I do know for many years now you could get a tow behind torpedo that charges the batteries. Sailboats might be able to absord enough energy that you would never need to fire up the diesel part.
