Default Neal know nada about boats!

Yes, sir! All that horrible weight aft. All 100 pounds of
it. Consider the fact that when you sit your fat ass behind
your wheel you are placing 250 pounds right aft.

Also consider the fact that my little 4-stroke Honda meets
2006 EPA emission standards - can you claim the same for
your smelly diesel?

The weight of your engine at the stern pushes your stern down and creates drag.
In poor conditions, the weight of the engine, up high and aft helps to make
your boat porpoise, also creating drag.
Neal thinks his engine is lighter and here too he is wrong because he fails to
consider leverage. On a real sailing vessel, the engine is mounted low, below
the waterline, making it's weight a balast component that is part of the design
envelope. On Neal's boat, the engine is up high and all the way aft. It has
MUCH more negative impact than an inboard engine.
Finally, in a rare but always possible emergency where his engine might be
needed, it lacks the draft to make it effective in even moderate seas and it's
likely to get swamped altogether.
Outboards are like outhouses. They stink, they're ugly, they don't work as well
as an "inboard" head and you want them far, far away! RB
