So?

BTW, did I ever mention that I had a machine shop?

Yes, you have. I have a drill press.

RM=Rim Fire. Had to think about that one too. What's a 22B. I have 2
boxes (200) of the 22BB, we call them bird shot. Good for shooting pigeons
and mice in the barn.

I can sit in my
lounge room and shoot rabbits out the window if I want to, without

my
neighbours saying a word.

We're a tad more refined, we generally step out on the deck, burnt

cordite
lingers and my wife doesn't like the smell.

Don't have any rabbits in our neighborhood. The neighbors ate them all,

right
after they finished off the pigeons.

The muzzle blast can be a problem, too. Even a 22RF is noisy in a
confined space.

What's a 22RF? Here we have 22LR (for "long rifle") and 22S (shorts) and

22B
(not sure these are made any more) and 22BB. The BBs are used for popping
balloons in amusement park galleries, hard to find on store shelves but

lots of
fun. Perfect for shooting cats or squirrels or rabbits at ranges up to

about 30
yards. Better than a compressed air pellet gun and about the same amount

of
noise & muzzle blast.

Guess I'll have to ask Peter for his illegal silencer plans.

Ah so, I should have thought of that. But I never saw a 22 center fire
cartridge.

What's a 22B.

It's a smaller bullet (same caliber obviously but less lead) with less charge.
To be honest I'm not sure they're being made any more.

The 22BB shot I'm familiar with is a bullet, not a scatter shot. I have some 22
shot shell charges too, we used to call it rat shot or snake shot. I've heard
some people advocate it for personal defense because "it's hard to miss" but a
22LR is skimpy enough for reliably taking out bad guys, bird shot would suck for
that.

They make shot shells for lots of pistols, I used to carry them alternating with
..38+ in a revolver. Kinda handy but again not my first choice for two-legged
type snakes.

I've seen the .38 bird-shot, kinda pricey, so I went with the hollow points.

Lots of them about. 221 Fireball (shortened 222), 222, 218 Bee, 223,
22-250. The list goes on.

Hmm. Flobert-Patronen BB & CB caps. Like a short 22 Short, the BB has a
round lead ball projectile, the CB has a conical projectile. Wonderful
for shooting cats & birds in suburbia. Almost no muzzle blast from a
rifle barrel and quite accurate. I still have a few hundred somewhere.

11th Commandment.....

One of my neighbours had obviously had enough of the rabbits last
night. Double-barrelled shotgun, nobody cares about the noise.
