Not true. Mylar doesn't cost 40% more than a quality Dacron sail. 40% more
than a crap Dacron sail .... maybe.

If you're racing yes, if not, probably no. I read an article a while back
from someone that was primarily cruising and they claimed otherwise, will
see if I can locate the article, was published in "Sail".
