![]() "katysails" wrote in message ... It is really m/s/b/ad that the government feels that it must override the wishes of parents in this way In a parochial school???? The government can do that? Here the government only dictates what must be yaught in the secular subjects. They leave the teaching of religion completely alone. Are your parochial schools subsidized by the government? Ours are not except for an occasional shared phys ed or art program where it profits the public school and the parochail school to share for economies sake. It is a private school. I don't know what you mean by a "parochial" school. It is funded entirely by the fees, which are paid by the parents. Apparently, it is now illegal to give children a religious upbringing of any sort A new anti-discriminaton law came into effect this week. "Sexuality" discrimination is now illegal. This sounds fine, on the surface. However, when one looks into the fine print, it becomes a bit scary. Any references to homosexuals, that might be construed as "offensive" are now illegal. This is Political Correctness gone mad. A small employer may now be prosecuted for failing to prevent his staff from discussing the controversy surrounding the appointment of a gay bishop in the States. What is more important? The right to free speech, or the right to hear nothing that might offend? Regards Donal -- |
