Bush has been able to turn up little more than paperwork and a few scattered

This is not about truth for them. It's about being right. Even if they're

That's interesting but he's reporting hearsay. He doesn't actually talk

Total nonsense. Much of the text has been translated. It isn't quite the same
as modern Hebrew, but its not that far off. The fact that several books of the
Bible were found intact helped a lot, but anyone familiar with Hebrew would
recognize it immediately. The big problem is that much of scrolls have crumbled
into small pieces - computers are helping now to put it all back together. Now
that photos of all fragments are available to scholars much progress has been
made.

It's more a matter of convenient confusion and obfuscation
than people having one or two names at the time.

For example, I know of at least one local Old Thom. In
the future if someone writes about Old Thom many many
people will not have a clue as to whom the writer refers.

Same goes for this Jesus legend. Had those who believe
been more concerned with accuracy that could be proven
than a legend that could be exploited they would have
easily been able to give this Jesus legend a name that
could more easily prove his existence for future generations.

More nonsense. The Bible is great literature, possibly the finest ever written.
The problem is that some people think it is the word of God. Worse, they choose
to interpret it for their own means.

I'm particularly fond of Genesis and the other ancient writings - an interesting
collection of stories chosen as the basis for a relationship with God and as a
moral code.

The funny part is that people read it. They disregard elements and keep others

Sorry Katy,

After the Nicen Conference the bishops of Alexander (The Church of the
West at the time) want Constantan to make the Bishops of the Eastern
Branch to live up to the agreement they signed at the conference. They
had the upper hand with Constantan & the Roman Army behind them. They
wanted Jesus to be considered a God at the time he was on Earth.

I agree with your view, maybe? He had to be fully human to complete his

Interesting you should say that. The Vulcan salute used by Spock is the hand
gesture used by the Orthodox Kohanim during the benediction blessing of the
service. The Kohanim are the male descendents of Aaron and are the "priestly
class" amongst Jews. To this day, Jews that are Kohanim (Cohens) have a special
place in the service, and DNA tests show that line has been rather faithfully
remembered.

Leonard Nimoy was a Kohanim, and grew up in the Orthodox community of the "West

Jesus was nowhere to be found

You didn't look hard enough. He was there.

Christianity and the HIV virus both spread and both
do about as much good for the world.

heh I assume that you know that a celebration at Christmas time existed
long before Christ. The Christians hijacked a pagan festival. The same
thing happened with Easter.

And it worked. By incorporating local tradition and belief into the new religious belief, the new belief grew and devloped,
surrounding itself with the flavor of the other traditions. It is one of the reasons Christianity spread. Much better than the
"Divide and conquer" attitude.

If he was then he's definitely not what you think he is.

BB

He is always there. Most just don't recognize Him. He was the poor =
clerk trying to be polite to all the rude crowd...He was the waitress =
pouring endless cups of coffee in the Mall restaurant...He was the old =
guy at the front of the store that smiled when you came in...you just =
weren't looking for the right things...

I had to teach my hand how to do that salute or gesture. The fingers didn't
want to go left and right properly. Now on my other hand there are only two
fingers,l the little and ring fingers are long gone. So my version goes
like this: Right hand, Live Long and Prosper. Left Hand . .. "After
Taxes".

We're loading and have two more days at somewhere in the US. Then we are
going to go "somewhere". Shhhhhhhhhh.....Wouldn't want to tip off BS's
buddies.

Anyway I get two more days of .asa and then ... ...oblivion once again.

But I shall return . . . .
