It'll take 10 years to make up for the millions of jobs
lost since Bushy took office. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Sorry Booby, the economy has come roaring back in spite of all the Democrat demagoguery. Bwahahahaha! Roaring back? Bwahahahahahaha! It needs a lot more roaring! The cuts by large companies are even bigger now than last year! I know! It's Jimmy Carter's fault! RB |

Check your figures or read the following:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2003Nov28.html Jobs were lost mostly in the manufacturing sector due to increased efficiency. Profitability is up because dead wood was trimmed off. It's just like a liberal to think business exists as some sort of welfare program that must employ more people than needed to get the job done. Business exist to make money for themselves and their stock holders. Get used to that fact. That's capitalism and that's the system we live under. That is the system that made this country the greatest economic power the world has ever known. Lost jobs is just another liberal mantra that is as meaningless as asking where's the WMDs. The only people who care about a few lost jobs are those who are laid off or fired because they are no longer needed. Does it ever occur to these people to get another job? Nah- they're mostly liberal Democrats who think they are entitled to unemployment benefits because their overpaid, union jobs were trimmed as unnecessary. S.Simon "Jonathan Ganz" wrote in message ... Companies cannot afford to keep on dead weight. During the Reagan boom
(Clinton took credit), companies were willing to hire anyone to fill an opening without regard to the ability of that person to do the job. This led to unqualified people (intelligently challenged) being led to believe they deserve a piece of the "pie". Unfortunately, most companies cannot afford to keep unproductive people on their payrolls. It's not like we live in a communist state where everyone has a "so-called" job (even if they don't work they get their "paycheck"). In the real world one must work for a living an will only have that job as long as they produce. Many companies in the tech sector have instituted the "bottom 10%" policy. Every year, the bottom 10% producers get the boot while they continie to aggressively recruit more productive employees. Doesn't sound like communism to me. Thank God. Is Boobspit a communist? BTW, all my investments are doing great! Jonathan Ganz wrote: It'll take 10 years to make up for the millions of jobs lost since Bushy took office. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... They can't. You're right. If that's the case, how come Neal is
still employed... we know he's dead weight. The problem is that companies are not actively hiring even to fill the open spots they have. They're trying to squeeze every last once out of their current employees. You can only do this for so long. Then, the company suffers. The economy will turn around eventually. It's still suffering, mostly from unreasonably high unemployment in most of the major economic centers. "Grouch" wrote in message ... Companies cannot afford to keep on dead weight.
