Default Master and Commander - bleh!

Hey Boob since Laserdisc was analog tell us how you derived a 5.1 audio
signal off one of those discs.

Good Lord, Loco. Dolby Pro Logic derived rear and center channels for 4.1 and
5.1 systems since the early 90's, even with VHS and EARLY laser. By the way,
did you know that the center channel is essentially matrixed? It's still a
discreet channel (in effect) because it a SAE in the soundtracks.
I'm still trying to go easy on you here. I've owned many systems, even an early
3 channel with matrixed rears and no center. From a purist POV no system has a
purely and discreetly transmitted center or center rear. If you only read about
this lightly, as clearly you have, it's hard for you to know what's what. But
Dolby Pro logic/DD derived 5 channels (not DD) ANALOG, SAE. Here's what was
available with an ordinary pro logic processor...and a laser disc:

From the Laser Disc FAQ
NTSC discs:

2 analog channels (last discs like this were made in the 80's)
2 analog channels + 2 uncompressed digital channels
1 analog channel + 2 uncompressed digital channels + 5.1 Dolby Digital channels

2 analog channels + 5.1 DTS channels

Hope this helps.
