And BTW I only download DVD quality DivX rips http://www.divx.com ,
The heart of my multimedia entertainment (movies, mp3s) is based on a IBM-PC. Snore. I'm well aware of the web based theft that goes on. With the cost of DVDs so, so low, why would I want to any time downloading and burning DVDs? Quit the job at McDonald's and you can get a good system! Bwahahahahahaha! RB |

The technologically advanced like myself use a compressed format that can take a 2 hour DVD movie and archive it to one 700 meg cd-r with no loss of audio or sound quality. Then we can format that cd to play in most good stand alone DVD players. You sir are a technological caveman. In the near future we will have solid state storage systems that will have the ability to hold the entire database of our civilization. In terms that those of your ilk can understand we will have the capacity to store every movie, audio CD, e-book, audio book, and photograph ever produced on a single computer hard drive. |

HD-DVD is next and that'll be around for quite a while. I'm currently using PS DVD and HD-VHS. You're playing with toys. RB |

HD-DVD
is next and that'll be around for quite a while. EVD is next. Same thing. EVD royalty issue is key in it's success here. We'll see how long it takes to remaster the DVD catalogues! Meanwhile DVD progressive scan looks excellent up to around 55-60 inches. On my 47 6X9 HD-TV it looks very film-like, but not match for true HD Video Tape. Few movies available for that deck, but it was a gift. RB |

You might explain what formats you use that have eluded everyone else. For the real
world, Video CDs only hold 74 minutes of reduced resolution. "larry flint a.k.a lawrence stone" wrote in message ...
