Another fine, professional motor boat captain?
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/8239.htm
Demonstrates that motorboat captains need more rigorous physical exams and testing of psychological factors. The above person was clearly unqualified to run a ferry and a dozen people died with scores injured because of it. S.Simon |

Simple Simon:

I have to wonder what makes you write something like that. Did you click the link and read the report in the Post? Would you say the suicidal captain is normal? It it normal to run away from a wreck you caused and then slit your wrists and shoot yourself with a pellet gun? Would you say it's OK to be a captain while having such a severe blood pressure problem that passing out is the result of forgetting to take a pill? Like I said. The man needed a better physical exam and he certainly needs psychological help. He was unsuited to be driving a ferry with so many lives at stake. Perhaps there might be some good come of this trajedy. Perhaps the Coast Guard will tighten up their qualifications because as it stands now too many unqualified captains are falling through the cracks. S.Simon S.Simon "Shen44" wrote in message ... Like your course changes in fog, you're basing your
conclusions/decisions, on scanty information ....... When the full medical report of this guy comes out, they'll be able to tell whether this was or was not the full or significant cause. How anyone may react, knowing they may be or are, responsible for the deaths of a number of people, for whatever reason, is subject to many factors, most of which have little bearing on his ability to handle the boat. otn Simple Simon wrote: I have to wonder what makes you write something like that. His ability, or lack thereof, to handle a boat is proven. He failed to handle the boat. He passed out at the wheel and when he woke up he jammed the throttle full speed ahead in his confusion. He KILLED a dozen people and maimed scores more. It is inexcusable that a man like this was allowed to pilot that boat. That's a fact and your bias will not change the fact. Eye witness reports are a good source of information.
You will continue to do everything you can to support this unqualified captain who ran his ship into the dock at full speed. Why not admit the guy was less than qualified for the job? Why not admit you see a lot of yourself in him? If it wasn't for the fact you worked for you wife you'd probably be unemployed and unemployable. S.Simon - had two offers of captains positions this year already but turned them down because I'd rather play than work. "Shen44" wrote in message ... LOL Tell that to some cop, trying to get a discription of a bank robber from eye witnesses. You will continue to do everything you can to support this unqualified captain who ran his ship into the dock at full speed. No, I will continue to want to know what happened and not pass judgement until I DO know what happened. Why not admit the guy was less than qualified for the job? Why not admit you see a lot of yourself in him? You ARE such a total ass. If it wasn't for the fact you worked for you wife you'd probably be unemployed and unemployable. ROFL S.Simon - had two offers of captains positions this year already but turned them down because I'd rather play than work. ROFL turned them down, before they found out you weren't qualified, sounds more like the truth. Shen |
