Jon: I guess it depends on the local climate, if theres gonna be snow and ice, covering is probabably a good idea. Snow in the cockpit will pack the drains and turn to ice, allowing the possibility of a great deal of wieght from water biuld up in the spring when it rains but doesn't get warm enough to thaw the drains during the day, then at night the whole lot can freeze up and maybe be a worse problem the next day ....
